  • Director of Finance and Operations – for a new start-up hedge fund and private equity investment firm. In this role, you will manage operational accounting, financial reporting, tax, financial planning, and due diligence efforts on actual and potential investments for the firm. You will assist in the development of the company’s accounting systems and oversee legal and operational activities, including investor relations, investment process management, information technology, and HR. MBA from a top school, with a GPA of 3.5 or above, is required. 5+ years of broad accounting and finance experience; public accounting experience required. CPA is required; other certifications (like CFA, CVA, etc.) are a plus. The firm is looking for a smart, motivated, entrepreneurial professional who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help build the company from the ground up. Role provides an excellent base salary, bonuses, benefits, profit sharing, and numerous other incentives, for a total package of over $170K.

  • Investments Accounting Manager – for a prominent and expanding medical organization. In this role, you will manage administration, accounting, and reporting of investments and related activity for the organization, supervising staff responsible for coordination and reconciliation of investment income and balances. You will also provide investments accounting and reporting support to the Treasury department and interface with other departments within the corporation and outside service providers. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field is required. Master’s Degree in related field considered a plus. 8+ years of Accounting/Finance experience, with a solid background in investments, financial accounting, reporting, and analysis; this should include at least 5 years in a leadership role. Knowledge of PC software and accounting applications is required. Knowledge of GAAP, SAP, NAIC rules and regulations, as well as Benefit Finance experience is preferred. Salary up to $100K.

  • Assistant Controller – for a profitable automotive manufacturing and engineering firm. They are looking for a motivated, energetic professional to help guide the accounting department of a company that has consistently turned a profit for nearly 20 years and which has earned record profits in the past 5 years. This role, which reports directly to the VP of Finance, is responsible for oversight of the company’s general accounting functions, including financial statements, general ledger, payables/receivables, tax returns, and month-end and year-end closing and reviews. Our client offers an excellent compensation package, including a competitive salary, bonuses, retirement options, and health benefits, for a total package up to $100K.   • Hyperion Finance Specialist – for a corporation in the health care industry. Serve as a system accountant to support the management and ongoing development of capital planning finance platform. Responsible for the day-to-day support of the business processes for the finance capital planning systems including Oracle and Hyperion platforms, reviewing and driving development of Oracles’ Hyperion Strategic Financial application, running complex query resolution scoping, and testing to ensure systems are accurate and robust. 3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and Systems, including at least 3 years of experience in system accounting role. Knowledge of database systems skills; knowledge of Oracle/Hyperion Essbase REQUIRED. Must be expert in the use of Excel, able to maximize the potential of its functionality. Salary up to $95K.

  • Senior Accountant – for a local non-profit organization. This position is responsible for performing, with minimum supervision, all accounting functions related to the daily operations of funds, including account reconciliation, journal entries, billing and preparation of financial statements, coding, posting, reviewing/analyzing, and billings. Bachelors degree in Accounting required. 2-6 years of accounting experience. Must have extensive experience with payroll, benefits, budgeting, and variance analysis. CPA and prior public accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge is helpful. Public Accounting

  • Transaction Advisory Senior/Manager/Senior Manager – for a multinational public accounting and business consulting firm. In this role, you will assist firm clients in evaluating targets for mergers and acquisitions and provide necessary due diligence, as well as advising clients on complex accounting and financial reporting matters. 3+ years of assurance, financial reporting, and/or technical accounting experience for Seniors; 7+ years of experience necessary for Managers/Senior Managers, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Public accounting experience (Top 10 firms) highly preferred. CPA preferred for Senior and required for Manager/Senior Manager. CFA or ASA preferred. Knowledge of US GAAP, PCAOB, SEC reporting, IFRS, and related financial reporting concepts and rules essential. Base compensation is up to $85K for Senior, $110K for Manager, and $125K for Senior Manager, plus benefits. These roles offer great visibility, with both firm and client management. And no travel is required!

  • Senior Accountant – Public Accounting – for a local CPA firm. Candidates should have between 2 and 7 years of public accounting experience and ideally should possess solid knowledge of both tax (return preparation and planning activities) and audit (compilations and reviews). A familiarity with the construction or real estate industries is preferred. Base salary is from $80K (commensurate with experience).

  • Staff Accountant – for a local CPA firm. Our client is looking for a problem-solver with strong accounting abilities. Majority of work will be accounting (including financial statement preparation, journal entries, and reconciliations), but a significant percentage (30%) will also be tax-related, including tax compliance, PPT, payroll, and limited individual tax work. So candidates need to have a working knowledge of tax and be comfortable with tax research concepts, including utilization of RIA, Check Point, PPC, BNA, and similar. 2-5 years of current public accounting experience. CPA certitification or CPA candidate preferred. Experience with Thomson Reuters software and/or QuickBooks preferred. Proficiency with tax compliance at the partnership, corporate, and individual levels. Western/Northern Michigan Opportunities

  • Plant Accounting Manager – for a national manufacturing corporation in Western Michigan. Reporting to the Operations Controller, but with frequent contact and interaction with senior corporate management, this role oversees several important aspects of the company’s plant accounting functions, including reporting, controls, procedures, purchasing, and inventory. Though this is a plant role, you will also be involved in special projects at the corporate level and assist in coordination of the R&D process for the whole company so there are plenty of opportunities for exposure to other disciplines, skill acquisition, and, for the ambitious candidate, eventual promotion to higher levels of management at the plant or corporate level. At least 3 years of accounting experience within manufacturing, along with at least 1 year of management-level experience. BS in Accounting required. CPA preferred. Cost Accounting experience required. Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office and a background in the use of ERP and MRP systems.
