3 Networking Tips for College Students

College is a time in life where you have the opportunity to meet hundreds of new people every day.  You are in an area so concentrated with people looking to socialize, it is the perfect place to expand your network.  Here are some valuable tips for college students to expand their social networks:

1) Talk to your classmates – If you are a business major, it will pay great dividends in the future to get to know your classmates, and to keep in touch with them.  You never know when those connections will be able to help you.

2) Join on-campus groups – Whether this is a fraternity/sorority or the accounting club on campus, joining clubs is a great way to meet new people and connect with them.  These connections can turn into life-long contacts that can help you throughout your career.

3)  Master LinkedIn – Becoming fluent in the language of LinkedIn is a must in this day in age.  If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, make on today!  Connecting to professional contacts is a great way to stay in contact with people you meet, and again may open up many doors for your career in the future.
